Welcome to Auro Community Garden
The Auro Community Garden (ACG) is a non-profit LLC, run by mostly volunteer members that live and work in Hernando and surrounding counties. Use of the Verti-Gro System (hydroponics) and organic row gardening are utilized for growing fresh produce.
Auro Community Garden is a creation of Dr. John Hill and the Auroveda Foundation, a non-profit affiliate of Access Healthcare. Additional resources come from sales of produce at local outlets such as Brooksville Natural Foods and Murphy’s Market in Spring Hill.
Auroveda Foundation has also recently taken responsability for operating the historic "Little Rock Cannery", located at the northeast corner of US 98 and SR 491, in north central Hernando County.
The purpose of ACG is to build and reconnect the local community back to its' natural resources, to educate and encourage folks to grow their own gardens and create awareness of the needs of the Community as a whole.
As a "Community of Gardeners", the goal of ACG is to grow local fresh produce for its' members. "Excess" produce is sold to fund garden operations and given to those in need in Hernando County.
ACG welcomes all members of the community. Through the collective gardening knowledge of its' members and outside sources, we strive to teach all members sustainable gardening practices.
Auro Community Garden is located at 4095 Broad Street, Brooksville, Florida 34604, just south of the intersection of US 41 and Powell Road, on the west side of US 41 in Hernando County.
